By 2018, non-Hispanic whites under 18 will be less than 50% of the population under 18, with Hispanics, Asians and blacks collectively being the majority. By 2043, more than half the entire US population will be Hispanic, Asian or black and by 2060, more than half of the population over 65 will be Hispanic, Asian or black. By 2024, the white population will start declining in absolute size.

Poor families that moved out of bad neighborhoods into mixed-income ones through the use of vouchers, did not show any rise in income level or educational attainment compared to a control group that did not move. Mover families were, however, healthier than the control group. They had lower rates of diabetes, extreme obesity, anxiety and stress. They were also happier. Turns out, neighborhood safety matters while racial diversity doesn’t.
