This broke the record of 85 set by West Germany’s Gerd Muller in 1972, who broke the previous record of 75 goals set by Pele in 1958. Thus, five extra wins means an extra $670,000 in donations, 677 more applications, and a rise in average SAT scores of 9 points. This doesn’t mean spending more on football is good; all of us can’t win.
