Whopping Walmart

The Friday File: 55 years ago this week, a retailer opened an 18,000 square-foot discount store in Rogers, Arkansas called Wal-Mart, as the proprietor’s name was Sam Walton. That would make it the 26th largest nation in the world if ranked by GDP; equal in economic size to Belgium or Poland.
