Unchanged Unions

unionThe share of US workers in unions in 2015 was 11.1%, unchanged from 2014. The private sector rate inched up from 6.6% in 2014 to 6.7% in 2015 as unions added 195,000 members. The public sector unionization rate declined from 35.7% in 2014 to 35.2% last year despite the addition of 23,000 more union workers. The decline was partly attributable to the loss of 83,000 union members in Wisconsin.
